Right after the session, you will have your tattoo covered with Recovery Aftercare. You don’t have to do anything to it, just keep it on and have your body take care of the rest.

While your tattoo is covered, do not expose it to the sun, soak it (no baths or swimming) or do physical activity that will make your body sweat (no gym!).

There might be ink, blood and plasma underneath the Second Skin—it’s totally fine. As soon as you take it off and wash your new tattoo with soap and water, it will look how you remembered it pre bandage.

Please note: some people have allergic reactions to the Second Skin. It’s very rare and usually only causes some mild irritation. If you experience an allergic reaction, please let me know, take your Second Skin off and continue healing your tattoo as listed below.

Please regularly lotion the skin that you are getting tattooed as soon as possible. Failing to lotion the skin you are getting tattooed can make the tattooing process more difficult, potentially causing more bleeding, loss of detail, longer than expected sessions, and ink fallout.

Try to avoid exposing your skin to sun without sunscreen or physical activity that could damage your skin (bruising, scabbing) at least 24 hours prior to your session. I cannot tattoo skin that is sunburnt.

Lastly, please do not shave your skin before the session as it may cause irritation to the area.

On the day of your session, please, make sure you slept well, had a good healthy meal and you drank lots of water. Please avoid drinking alcohol within 24 hours of your session. I cannot tattoo someone under the influence.

If you are wondering what clothing would be best to wear for your tattoo, feel free to ask! Comfy, loose clothing is best.

Additionally, it’s always a good idea to bring water, a snack, headphones, a book, or whatever else that makes you more comfy to your tattoo appointment!

Twice a day for the remaining 2 weeks:

  • Wash your tattoo using antibacterial fragrance-free soap

  • Dry the area with clean paper towels by gently patting your tattoo

  • Apply a super tiny bitty amount of fragrance-free ointment on your tattoo (after inked, hustle butter, etc.)
